oosh a braille watch

Developed for the visually impaired, the “OOSH” by designer WinG Li is a Braille watch that lets the user touch and feel the time, allowing them to keep up the pace with the rest of the world. In case the user isn’t able to read the Braille, he/she can activate the voice notifications. All the user need to do is just raise the hand to tilt and trigger the built-in sensor, which automatically senses the motion and triggers the voice to tell the time. Users can switch between the two modes, touch or voice notification, according to their abilities or requirements with minimum fuss.

i feel that the innovative ideas and invention that i have posted are really good and useful. some are simple and just an idea can change how we do things.

common problems we have like always putting our thumbdrives in the wrong side and what nots, can be made easier by just a simple idea: making the USB device fit both ways. small things like these can cause a lot of annoyance to someone, so by eliminating these small annoyances, our lives will be better and it will change how we look at things.

an effective idea is key. these innovative designs will make our lives easier because it really questions the common problem before the product is designed, this way, the problems are eliminated and these products are effective in working with us humans.

There’s nothing more annoying than trying to plug in a USB device only to have the plug upside down, then you flip it over and it still won’t plug in, so you flip it over again and again and then jiggle it and then you stick your whole head about two inches away from the port to see what the deal is and then finally it goes in.

They should just label them with “this side up” to make it easier. But in the absence of labeling, the geeks over at UltraTek have used technology as a workaround with the Flipper USB. The idea is shockingly simple- a USB plug that can be plugged in either way. Hopefully this will become the standard because my neck can’t take all this craning anymore.

nokia kinetic 500x353 Nokia Kinetic Phone Gets a Phoner When it Rings

The Nokia Kinetic is an unique cell phone concept. When an incoming call is arriving the phone springs upright into a “phoner” type position. An electromagnet in the curved base shifts causing the phone to rise giving you a visual alert. To ignore a call, just push the phone back down into the blue-ball position flat on the table. To avoid unfortunate misunderstandings, this phone can never be used in your front pants pocket. Is that a phone in your pocket or are you just happy to see me?

urn ashtray Urn Ashtray Is a Subtle Hint

Everyone knows smoking is bad for you. Well if you don’t (cough cough Don Draper), then the Urn Ashtray with RIP lettering will give you a subtle hint to let you know about the evils of smoking. The neat part about this ceramic ashtray is that it opens up so you can store all your death equipment inside.

lids off jar opener

The Black & Decker Lids Off Jar Opener Black and Decker Lids Off Jar Opener is not only the most attractive electric jar opener I’ve seen (and most jar openers are definitely not stylish or modern in any way) it’s always very useful. The Lids Off can open any size jar with just a simple press of button- it adjusts to fit the jar size. Ideal for people with arthritis or who don’t have the strength or ability to open jars themselves (bloggers with carpal tunnel syndrome?). It’s received overwhelmingly positive reviews on Amazon, so it seems like a pretty solid kitchen appliance.

From 10 to 24 March 2010, IKEA develops an interesting event in four important metro stations in Paris. Furniture collections are currently displayed in high-traffic spots, giving the potential customers a chance to interact with the brand by checking out the products. The subway walls are also filled with prints that showcase IKEA interiors. What a creative way to do advertising! Moreover, this action completely changes the way the Paris subway station look and creates a cool atmosphere. Imagine waiting for the train n a comfortable sofa! We are certain this is the sort of event that French people will talk of for years to come. What do you think of this idea?
